We stayed overnight in the motel rooms at the service station at Richmond, with an early start comes another sunrise.
We stopped for breakfast at Hughenden, before heading off, taking the short-cut via Mount Garnet, Ravenshoe, Malanda.
The short-cut took us on a dirt road, which would have been fun if it was raining.
The short cut also had water over the road and a few river/creek crossings.
Lunch Time – Toasted Ham, Cheese and Tomato sandwich.
A quick toilet stop at Mt Garnet before heading to Cairns via the Gillies Pass. The plan was to go via Kuranda, but there was rain over Kuranda and the pass, so we decided to go via the Gillies Range.
Arraived at Matt’s place where the kids were waiting for us.
