After a false start a couple weeks ago we are finally on our way. Left early this morning and made it to Barkley Homestead.
The Monsoon has returned to Darwin, which meant we had to finish packing the car in the rain. I had packed up the trailer over the weekend, so we got away before 5am. The rain stopped before we got to Katherine, however the Katherine River is already up to 14 Meters.
We made it to Dunmarra Roadhouse for lunch, and then pushed thru to Barkley Homestead.
There was one spot between Three Ways and Barkley Homestead that still had water flowing over the road.
Another spot it almost looked like an inland sea, there was a lot of water still around.
For some reason Leanne doesn’t want to have a photo with me? So it’s just me and my new friends.
